Events Schedule Nov 1-7

1 Nov

Today is the last day of our mini hunt.  I want to thank everyone who came out to be a part of our first trick-or-treat:~)  I hope you had fun & a found something you enjoy.

It’s NaNoWriMo time & just a month until World AIDS Day & our 16 Days program, so this will be a busy, busy day for me.  I’ve opened the taco up for NaNoers looking for a quite place, & held a kick-off write-in last night.  I’m considering scheduling some regular write-ins, but haven’t decided yet if I really have the time for it (I am also leading real world write-ins).  I’ll also be getting my planning in gear for our 16 Days program on Dec 1.  If anyone would like to participate in the event or it’s planning, drop me a line either here or inworld.

Well, on to this week’s schedule…

Tues, Nov 2 @ 8PM: Video Night!
This week we’ll be enjoying an assortment of videos from Flight of the Conchords.  Prepare to be amused!

Thurs, Nov 4 @ 7:15PM: Movie Night!
Samurai Princess takes place sometime, somewhere, in an alternate universe version of feudal Japan where people live together with highly developed mechanical dolls. However, excessively developed mechanical dolls start causing harm to the human society, leading to ghastly blood shed happening all over the place. Under the circumstances, Kyoraku, a mad scientist, creates a female ninja mechanical doll. Equipped with 11 types of built-in weapons, the ninja doll is infused with the souls of eleven of her fallen sisters and she uses their combined power to take down anyone who stands in the way. The ninja doll will not die even if she is slashed by a sword or shot by a gun; she is virtually indestructible on her quest to save humanity. (desc taken from youtube)

This may be the worst movie I’ve shown to date!  Asian gore exploitation & a porn star lead actress?  But how can I not??  Recommended for fans of the Troma films, so you know to expect lots of cheesy, low budget gore & violence, & some “mild sexuality”.  **Does contain a rape scene, so this could be a trigger for some people.**

See you there!

17 Oct

This week we start celebrating my favorite holiday – Halloween!

Tuesday, 10/19 @ 8PM:
The 5lb Assorted Bag: I’ll be showing an assortment of Halloween goodies; music, movie clips, prank videos, whatever shows up & catches my eye.  Ooh, maybe I can find some real life ghosty videos!

Thursday, 10/21 @ 7:15PM:
So, You’ve Downloaded A Demon? (2004, Horror/Comedy) (Comorroredy?  Horromedy?)
Casidee Riley,  Zak Kreiter, Todd Livingston, Xenia Seeberg (<= any other Lexx fans here?)
While hacking an occult Web site for a Goth girl (Casidee Riley), student council hopeful Dave (Zak Kreiter) accidentally unleashes a nasty demon that takes over his body. As Dave runs wild as the spawn of Satan, his friends attempt a series of wacky schemes to save him. Directed by Todd Livingston, this outrageous college comedy features a botched exorcism, projectile vomit and plenty of creepy characters. (description from Netflix.com)

The week of Halloween, we’ll be  showing a different movie from the horror genre every night (well, at least through the week.  I’m still nailing down my Halloween plans & as much as I luv you guys I will not be passing up a night of drink & debauchery to watch YouTube in SL:~p).  If you’ve had the pleasure of seeing some of the movies I’ve shown so far, you know some of them will probably lean closer to being a comedy, or tragedy, than actual horror.  But as long as there’s at least a ghost or demon or axe murderer running lose, & somebody gets killed it counts.  I’m also working on a fun little trick or treat hunt around here.  But more info about all that next week:~)

See you there!

Events Oct 4-10 (& A Few Changes Around The Taco)

4 Oct

Lots of changes happening in the trailer park:~)  The theater has been moved, not too far though.  It’s still over the trailer park.  It has also been given a new fall makeover.  Looks good if I do say so myself.  I’ve switched some of the trailers up, added a mini trailer, & I’ll be parceling the lots so they have their own media control.  One of the reasons for moving the theater.  Over the hill, I’m moving Heart Beet further up & into a mega prim with access only by teleporting into it.

& now for the events…
